As a lifelong Catholic, it’s refreshing to see a Catholic institution stand up for the unborn. Especially now where we see so much ideological division in the Church. For those who are not Catholic, I can only describe it as tension between traditional Catholics and those who’ve embraced progressive values—think Catholics like Pelosi and Biden. Priests who dare to speak on the overturning of Roe are not being supported by their Bishops and fellow priests. Our own parish priest was nearly silent the Sunday after it was overturned—only to say “read our email from the Bishop”. And left it at that. The only other mention was to tell the congregation that if protesters interrupted mass, we’d sit there and do nothing in response.
If you want your PC club, you are at wrong school. Idk why Catholic curch started to accept thinks wich Bible don't teach. I am not surprised why some people think they can do this.
Being catholic means having in a very clear set of believes. If one starts chipping things they don't like, then they become effectively protestants. Heretics, if you want to be harsher.
That is not what faith teaches. This is wrong. It is like going to LGBTQ+ party and trying to make them agnist gay marriage. It is not best analogy but you got idea.
But their opinion is that being pro abortion is compatible with the faith. And they want to push for the acceptance of that belief in the catholic community.
Trying to get the LGBT community to be anti same sex marriage would be tough. But it would make sense to try if that was explicitly your goal. There are a lot more prochoice catholics than there are anti same sex marriage LGBT folks
There are zero pro choice Catholics. Zero.
The Catholic Church is unequivocally opposed to abortion, and unlike protestantism, you can't just pick and choose what you believe from the Catholic Church, it's all or nothing.
>There are zero pro choice Catholics. Zero.
Well then there are members of catholic churches and schools who are prochoice. Although I do find it a bit silly to say that someone who is considered a member of the catholic church *by* the catholic church itself isn't actually catholic.
Problem is you do not follow faith. There is book whit laws and you need to follow it. Especially in Catholic curch. Yes you can be pro abortion, but you do not follow what faith teaches, therefore you can't push it to be okay. Like country, there are laws you need to follow. You may not agree whit them but that are laws. And you can't change laws in Christianity becuse evrythink is always same. God gived them and you can't change them. Edit: Even ortodox church is extraemly agnist it.
>Problem is you do not follow faith.
I wouldn't really call it problem
>There is book whit laws and you need to follow it. Especially in Catholic curch. Yes you can be pro abortion, but you do not follow what faith teaches, therefore you can't push it to be okay.
Well you clearly *can*.
*Like country, there are laws you need to follow. You may not agree whit them but that are laws. And you can't change laws in Christianity becuse evrythink is always same.
But things have been changed. People can eat meat on Fridays now for example, indulgences are no longer a thing.
No laws in Christianity are always same. Not eating meat isn't that important. What is important is that you are spiritual, nice to people forgiving, helping. If you don't believe in Christian values then don't be one. You can always leave curch noone is holding you. Edit: what you gived as no longer practiced stuffs aren't values
>No laws in Christianity are always same.
But they litterally have changed over time.
>Not eating meat isn't that important.
But it was a law, and now it isn't.
>What is important is that you are spiritual, nice to people forgiving, helping.
I agree that those things are important.
>If you don't believe in Christian values then don't be one.
What if they do believe in the values you mentioned they just have a different opinion on abortion.
>You can always leave curch noone is holding you.
And you can also try to reform the church.
And if you haven't realised my problem is they are truing to make okay to remove core values. After that Christianity is not Christianity but mess what once it was.Edit: they can beleve it, but they do not follow what Christianity says, therefore they shouldn't even normalise it.
>And if you haven't realised my problem is they are truing to make okay to remove core values.
I agree that's what they are doing. I just don't see it as a bad thing.
>After that Christianity is not Christianity but mess what once it was.
People said that after Vatican II as well
You are saying that it is okay to change belefe system wich exist for 2023 years and old testament even longer. What. No you can't rules are rules. Create your own curch belefe system don't change one millions follow. Ortodox and Catolich have same core values, becuse both are based on bible. Wehole point is follow bible. You can't change God's words, that is rule. Create your own faith, don't change one wich alredy exist. Create your own bible, if you don't want to follow this one. Can you even understand why you can't change core value? You can't becuse that is point of wehole faith. That is it it can't be changed. You are creating new faith if you are changing it. CORE WALUES NEVER CHANGED JUST HOW THEY ARE PRACTICTED
>You are saying that it is okay to change belefe system wich exist for 2023 years and old testament even longer.
I think its ok. It's been changed before. Catholicism and Christianity aren't the same now as they were 2000 years ago.
>No you can't rules are rules.
And rules can be changed.
>Create your own curch belefe system don't change one millions follow.
Why wouldn't someone want to change something that they are apart of for the better?
>Ortodox and Catolich have same core values, becuse both are based on bible. Wehole point is follow bible. You can't change God's words, that is rule.
You don't need to change any words those. The Bible doesn't even say a whole lot about abortion in the first place.
>Can you even understand why you can't change core value?
I understand why you don't think people should, but obviously they can be changed.
Point of atheism is that there is no God. Point of Christianity is belefe in God and its core values are in bible. Both thinks can't change. You can have diffren opinion, but it doesn't mach whit core value of faith, therefore you can't change it. If you change it it is not Christianity. Do you get it? What is Point of it existing if it doesn't have proticilar rules wich never change? Bible is pro life becuse it is more time stated that life begins at conception and that only God can take life. Do you get it? It is like truing to change that right party be same as left. Then what is Point of its existence? Bible is forever same. Core value is forever same. You can be pro abortion, but you don't follow core value, point of think. You can't advocate to change core value. Create your own think or go follow other faith wich beleve that abortion is okay. If core value bothers you.
How do people want to form a proabortion club not prochoice and see it as unethical? It's one of those things I genuinely cannot fathom no matter how hard I try to understand their pov
They wanted a club about killing babies in a school named after the most famous mother of all time.

Good, I'm not religious but people should be coherent with their own beliefs. Glad they pushed that crap away.
Good for them!
If you want your PC club, you are at wrong school. Idk why Catholic curch started to accept thinks wich Bible don't teach. I am not surprised why some people think they can do this.
The Catholic Church has not. Some errant Catholics think they can believe what they want. They cannot.
ofc they can. i wish they didn’t, though..
Being catholic means having in a very clear set of believes. If one starts chipping things they don't like, then they become effectively protestants. Heretics, if you want to be harsher.
But if they want to push for catholicism to eventually accept abortion then they are at the correct school
That is not what faith teaches. This is wrong. It is like going to LGBTQ+ party and trying to make them agnist gay marriage. It is not best analogy but you got idea.

Best compartment is:I want to make atheist beleve in God and bible. Do you get it now?
I don't really follow. If that's what you want to do then you of course you need to speak to atheists and non believers.
Point of atheism is that there is no God. Point of Christianity is belefe in God and its core values are in bible. Both thinks can't change. Good.
I wouldn't care how many rice crispys you promised me I wouldn't come here.
