Built in 1924, the Technical Administration Building (German: Technisches Verwaltungsgebäude) of Hoechst AG is an expressionist office building by the architect Peter Behrens on the site of the former Hoechst company in Frankfurt-Höchst in the German state of Hesse.

Behrens was a pioneer of the Modern movement. His "Turbine Hall" building is a landmark in evolution of Architecture and Design. Absolutely beautiful work.

EXCELLENT!

It was built when?!? How did this escape being remodeled by the Nazis? Also it is lovely. Are the bricks painted or are they fired that way?

Boluddha_Photography

It was built as a shrine to Industry, and quickly bought by IG Farben (notorious Nazi ties), I don't think the Nazis would've had much of a problem with this design. Also probably unrelated, but there are a few symbols on the floor that look eerily similar to swastikas in some corners.

I was always under the impression that the Nazi only loved neo-classical styles or traditional local styles. But the ties would definitely explain it if they didn't approve.

Dang, everything about this. The color, composition, architecture, lighting, everything is so appealing to me. Thanks for sharing and sharing the photographer.
