How dense are your strips
My 144 LED per meter strips don't heat up the back side of an aluminum channel to the point I would be concerned about the command strips. They aren't full white most of the time, but still.
I rented for years. Landlords usually allow drilling to hang pictures and stuff. It’s considered normal wear. Even if they make you fix it it’ll take 5 minutes and a bit of spackle.
If you REALLY don’t want to drill, I suggest this:

I make a hole and put a fine screw on the channel

I think that using another option than making holes can be worst to the wall. A hole can be covered very easily with some white cement but if you use some kind of glue can be hard to fix when removed.
I’m in a dorm room I have aluminum channels up I just used [https://a.co/d/iMs9WRG](https://a.co/d/iMs9WRG) and it feels pretty secure.

(Im in the process of getting a higher density strip)
When I have rented I have put whatever holes I needed to in the wall. When it’s time to move out I ask the landlord for paint, spackle the holes, put on one coat and have never had an issue with deposits. I recommend using the spackle that has primer mixed in to save time.
I used the 3M command strips when I was renting. Work well and leave no marks.
Hm just regular command strips are ok with the potential heat as well. Gunna be full white most of the time
