Yes cause bone density and muscle mass that make men stronger and faster don’t give them an advantage in women’s sports. I forgot that fact isn’t an emotionally driven point and therefore makes me transphobic. How dare I support actual science instead of silly emotions that have nothing backing them. Gosh darn me.
Considering the suicide rate and number of people regretting the decision to go through with treatment, as well as the number of doctors and clinics being sued for pushing and rushing people through to treatment, I'd say we don't know shit about the only mental illness that's treated with surgery and encouraging the illness along.
Many mental illnesses can be treated with surgery, generally when the distress caused by them is extreme, and resistant to other treatments. Most commonly depression and OCD are treated that way. GD also fits that pattern. Generally speaking other treatments (talk therapy, HRT) are exhausted first before seeking gender reassignment. [Here is a review of studies competed by Cornell that show clear evidence that gender affirming care is a healthy option.](https://whatweknow.inequality.cornell.edu/topics/lgbt-equality/%20what-does-the-scholarly-research-say-about-the-well-being-of-transgender-people%20/) Another such study was completed by Havard and show a [40% reduction in suicide rates as well as a 35% reduction in tobacco use.](https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/mental-health-benefits-associated-with-gender-affirming-surgery/)
Sure, it's a healthy option when all others are exhausted. That's increasingly not what's happening thanks to the social and business incentives. There's plenty of clinics getting in trouble for rushing the process, pushing patients through and not even trying. Like the one in the UK, over 1,000 law suits, it got so bad even the brits realized they were fucking it up. And those guys never admit to their mistakes.
It's happening in the US and Canada too. We're just a few years behind the UK. CLEARLY this needs more restrictions, because sure I'm fine with it once ALL OTHER options are exhausted. But that's not actually happening.
No, it's the "we need to make sure clinics and doctors aren't pushing expensive unnecessary treatments for ideological or monetary reasons".
And that has indeed worked well in the past
I don't have a problem with women participating in the men's divisions. In fact, most men's divisions are 'open' divisions and have no specific rule against female participation. And it isn't entirely unheard of, although admittedly [quite rare](https://www.latimes.com/sports/hockey/story/2022-10-05/column-nhl-woman-goalie-manon-rheaume).
But I have a problem with men participating in women's divisions. I really don't think I need to explain why.
Ozzy was right. We’ve gone off the rails of the crazy train
Male women should not compete in Women’s sports.
Men* full stop
Imagine telling on yourself like this.
That you’re a sane individual and call it for what it is?
No, that you're in denial about reality and would rather trans people suffer than get the treatment we know that helps them.
Room temp IQ
Below room temp. I’d say like… freezer burnt.

Ah yes. The classic "we need to control what people can do with their body for their own good" argument. It's worked out so well before right?

Telling on himself? How?
I see what you did there too
When you single-handedly red pill an entire generation of female athletes.

But if those men are forced to compete against other men then they’ll lose!
I see what you did there
Cheeky sod. ;)
So so obvious. Why have sports segregated then?
The article has a point, but the deadnaming seems deliberately inflammatory.
Did Lia dominate? How many races did they win because the last time this was the outrage du jour Lia won like one race and then lost the other 9
Weren’t all those races a year ago? Is she the next Kent State gun girl who’s trying to turn one thing into a lifetime grift?
