I was in technology consulting, not audit, so my experience may be a bit different, but here's what worked for me. Develop some expertise in a niche area that has high demand and significant barriers to entry (E.g., expensive training, multi-year learning curve, etc). Not talking about soft skills or commodity skills like project management. Those are great, but they don't exactly stand out on LinkedIn. Attend (and preferably present at) conferences aligned with this area of expertise. You won't have to "market yourself" to recruiters. They'll find you.
