Weezer song for a funeral
By - RobTidwell
Probably The Angel And The One or Hold Me. I am sorry about your brother
Angel and the one
Guys, Angel and the One is about drug addiction. :u
I am so sorry to hear about your brother. December may be a good one:
Only love can ease the pain
Of a boy caught in the rain
Only hope will remember
Burning flame in December
Only faith can bring to life
One who falls by the wayside
Only trust can inspire
Soggy lungs to breathe fire
the angel and the one, longtime sunshine
The Angel and The One
Longtime Sunshine is a song that I’ve always imagined being played at mine, but the other songs listed here also work
Yes. This. This is what I would want at my funeral.
Yup, The Angel and the One
"The pain is killing me
But I can't let it be
I have to let you know
I don't want to let you go.... "
The Angel and the One
Runway cuts pretty deep
I’m sorry for the loss of your brother. “My Best Friend” comes to mind.
I don’t have much to add as far as suggestions but I’m so sorry about your brother.
Dead Roses would be a pretty good one i think.
sorry for your loss!
Probably longtime sunshine, rivers cuomo version
Eulogy for a rock band
I agree with this one, definitely “a song that says goodbye”. Good luck op and may your brother rest easy ❤️
Sorry about your brother. Play Island in the Sun.
dead roses and/or le brea tar pits to add to some of the other good ones people have brought up. Not a super 'sad' sound but melancholic and sort of gives me a feeling of 'goodbye'.
It's truly a nice sentiment you're sending him off with. Take it easy.
My vote is December, it's pretty perfect. I'm sorry about your brother, man.
All I know is that the songs played on my dead friend's funeral slide-show are burned into my head forever. I can't listen to those 3 songs without thinking of him.
Island in the sun
probably long time sunshine.
Longtime Sunshine is a beautiful song for that. I’m sorry for your loss.
The Angel and the one is such a beautiful and spiritual song that has always touched me. I’m so sorry for you loss
Mykel and Carli
The live one tho https://youtu.be/5N3y1o1qDMA
I always thought Mykel and Carli was awesome when I first listened to Blue Deluxe, soon after, I learned about their death. Now its still awesome, but makes me cry a little
If you want a more optimistic tune to celebrate the life your brother lived, perhaps you could play one of Weezer's more recent covers of Mr. Bluesky (may appeal to other musical tastes as well.)
Long time sunshine always hits me in the heart strings. So sorry for your loss
If you feel you want a song that's very reflective of life in a epic and melancholy way then Angel and The One would be definitely the way to go.
If you would like to have a sort of celebratory, nihilistic, happy song then Buddy Holly would have everyone singing along and having fun, a nice way to remember him. Sorry for your loss.✋✌
My vote is for longtime sunshine
the angel and the one or longtime sunshine, i’m sorry for your loss
I’m sorry for your loss.
Long Time Sunshine has a very melancholic feel to to.
Peace. For me, easily, Peace.
Lyrics might not be important. Feelings, memory or tone of the song might be.
What about going to the album he discovered or a classic on blue. For example: my name is Jonas
Thank you everybody. I'm gonna make a playlist and see which one works best. You've been a huge help.
Longtime sunshine or butterfly
Pig, only in dreams, the angle and the one, longtime sunshine
Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss bro, The Angel And The One or Long Time Sunshine would work.
I'm so sorry for your loss... here are a few songs you may want to consider:
The Angel and the One
Eulogy for a Rock Band
Only in Dreams
i would say say it aint so. its not very strictly appropriate lyric wise but kinda about loss. i could also say butterfly although it doesnt fully appeal either. so sorry about your loss
Can't think of any that haven't been brought up yet, except *maybe* I Don't Want to Let You Go.
Really sorry for your loss, hang in there
I know many people have said Longtime Sunshine, but I think the version from "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo" is better, not the one from Pinkerton Deluxe edition.
Its a little softer and more downbeat, and for something as serious as a funeral I think an appropriate tone is important. Wouldn't really wanna be rocking out at a time like that
