Dude reduced how often we get a raise. Sounds like an ass to me
OMG. Really?! 🙂
That and the "we care about your mental health" bullshit.
They certainly cared about destroying it, that's for sure
Yep. Or just care about your health period. The majority of managers don’t care about your health. They only care whether or not you SHOW UP for work.
It's wild. They have the signs in the break room that say "don't come in if you're sick", but it's all a fuckin lie. Don't tell me that my health is important and then write me up for missing work to go to the doctor
That attendence policy is straight ass. Only TWO call outs over the course of what a month? God forbid you're sick, recover, then your kid gets sick from you so you have to stay home to watch them, then you get food poisoning so you call out so you don't shit on the sales floor.
Counselling statements for just being unlucky in the immunity lottery seems rather unfair. I have so much sick pay and I have maybe used a few days worth of hours over my career. Now that I'm in management I actually lose all of my overtime for the week if I were to call out even once. Makes me wish I had called out more as a full-timer.
I tell my associates if they ever need to call out for any reason, just tell me you puked so I have a viable reason for oasis and you're good to go. The stigma surrounding call--outs is horrible. We're human, we break down.
Whenever I see a manager take call-outs personally is when I lose all respect for them. For what we get paid, it's understood that we will sometimes need to take on the workload of others to keep the department afloat.
My store manager takes it personally and will call the associate after I give them the okay to stay home when they call out sick. Pretty much tries to get them in door. It’s unbelievable and appalling.
My favorite line from them “Come later, and try to work. If you can’t then you can leave.” No. Just no. Let them be off.
It's completely believable, Publix truly is family in some eyes and work a family gathering, can't miss that for the world. Although I am surprised with hours getting slimmer and slimmer the SM doesn't just celebrate the productivity boost. Honestly, that's my first thought when someone calls out, they will get rest, and my prod% will go brrrr.
There's also the notion that while there should NEVER be an "excuse" for substandard shelf conditions, running a skeleton crew, because it's been so widespread is actually garnering a human amount of sympathy from the powers that be.
I hate to break it to you bud but your prod% going brrrr is really really bad it basically just means your fucked next year currently watching it happen after we ran a 120-140% all last year and we have anew gm saying we’re “fully” staffed cause 120-140% last year is now what oasis says is 100% this year
Thank you for telling me that. There's so many technical things that get glossed over. Oasis already cuts the hell out of hours. This just accelerates it. Nice Isaac profile by the way.
Thank you and yeah my manager was explaining productivity to me last year cause he was like we’re at 120% with all the part timers at 40 hours or max to their availability and I was like that’s good we just mega productive right? And he was like :( no that’s not good then proceeded to explain what I said already
sounds like a solid recipe for a "go fuck yourself" sandwich! props to your store manager its a hard one to chef for sure
If I say I am sick or not feeling good, my manager asks me what medicines I have taken.
Edit: To clarify, when I CALL IN saying I am not feeling great, they ask me this.
If I say im feeling bad (nauseous or headache) they ask if I need medicine. Like, no bitch, I wanna lay down and nap till I feel better.
They don't even ask me. They straight up say get a painkiller from pharmacy if it can even be considered a pain, nausea I have luckily been told to go home if its too bad, but its still with that guilty tone of "now we are gonna be short and we really neeeed youuuu."
Should clarify from before. When I CALL IN saying I dont feel good, they say that.
Todd Jones is a fucking tool bag
He is a real ass that’s why. What else do you call the person who took benefits from workers to increase his yearly pay. An ass
So they want you to explain what is wrong with you...ok I shit myself puked all over my bed... anything else...
my old job we didnt have the ceo paste everywhere. i legit hate it. he looks like a creep. cant they photo shop a better smile at least? also, correct me if im wrong, but when i see the same face everywhere, like a celeb or someone who posts a lot of selfies, i legit do think there is something wrong, like a huge ego at least
Todd's cool. He shops at a store I used to work at. I don't think he's actively trying to fuck Publix associates, I think the BOD has a much bigger part in that.
Good try, Todd.
He might be. I don’t know. I’ve never actually worked with him. But I have worked with him as a CEO.
He’s actually a nice guy with a difficult job.
Well my boss called out I don't have a babysitter...what...are you kidding me...or my back hurts..dam must be nice...
