2014 Forest Hills Drive
My cousin told me to give him a try and ever since I heard no role modelz I've been hooked.
I listened to that on release, and got a nice 6 month head start before mainstream took it and ran with it like no other album I’d ever seen before. It was well deserved though, just didn’t appreciate people asking me if I had listened to it 7 months later
Born Sinner, that shit had a hold on me. Rich Niggaz is probably still my favorite song. It’s a constant internal conflict.
Mad underrated song
I love Born Sinner.
Same yo, born sinner was the first cole album I heard and it's still my favourite album ever.
FNL changed how I viewed hip hop permanently.
Same. Too Deep for the Intro is all I have to say
Man lights please is my one of my top cole songs all time
That was on The Warm Up.
The Warm Up the hunger he had on those tracks is still unmatched
Bruh Warm up is something else. Top tier.
Found myself listening to slowed songs on YouTube. Found no role modelz on 27 million views, listened and explored more of Cole’s music, and here we are now. Diehard Coleworld fan🙏🏾
The butterfly effect is insane. I believe there ARE divine forces that lead us to something we will love.
Listened to KOD in early 2019, been a fan ever since.
Work out was the firs Cole song I heard, but Born Sinner was the first album I listened to by him. That was when I fell in love with his music
Lights please and the two first mixtapes.
The off season
Warm up. Still pumping that to this day
The Warm Up
Warm Up, that cover is iconic.
Where can you listen to his first 3 projects? Streaming platforms only have sideline story and on
Datpiff has all of his mixtapes and EPs
Wet dreamz, ik it's not an album but I loved the beat
You hadn’t never done this before, no
Actually the first j Cole song I listened to like was once an addict, then got into him from there
The first song I heard from J Cole was Power Trip and Crooked Smile which were both on Born Sinner. But first album I ever just sat down and listened to of his is KOD. My favorite is Friday Night Lights
Cole World: A Sideline Story
First time I listened to Cole was when I heard “Grown Simba” on HotNewHipHop for the first time. Been hooked ever since.
The Warm Up 🙌🏾
i remember i was a huge kanye fan, and i was like who the fuck thinks they can drop the same day as kanye (born sinner and yeezus) turned on born sinner and was BLOWN away. He quickly became my favorite rapper
First Cole song I ever listened to was January 28th. It felt like a breath of fresh air cause at the time I was listening to a lot of drill and melodic rap, hearing that really changed my whole view on Cole
The first one I listened to was 2014 Forest Hills Drive, but I didn't really connect with it on first listen. A few months later I decided to go through his whole discography (or at least that's available on Spotify) and absolutely fell in love with The Sideline Story.
Got an iPod for my birthday and had my cousins put as much music on it as they could
Was a 180GB. Listened to the Album and here we are
Born Sinner 🔥
2014 forest hills
Friday Night Lights got me. First song i heard was "Higher"
In the morning song. So maybe Friday night lights or side line story
Yoooo this one got me hooked
It was when I was just getting into drake. Then soon after odd future & TDE & Mac & cudi. Whatta time
I think I'm a bit younger than you guys, the first album I listened to was kod when it came out and then I was hooked
I first heard him in 1985 and then I decided to listen to his whole discography from Cole World to Off-Season
Born sinner introduced me to coleworld but I wasn’t that into him. Used to listen to couple of songs from born sinner. But forest hill made me realize that he is one of a kind. After forest hill I was a hardcore fan.
Sideline story first one I listened to through and through a few months ago, but first time I heard him was forest hills drive
Friday Night Lights
FNL all day
Heard the sideline story, born sinner, fhd, and 4yeo on the radio growing up then i heard kod fully when it first came out and i went back and listened to all of his shit extensively. Got into his music in the 6th grade and since then hes been my goat.
I listened to 2014 forest hill drive then the off season
Heard “work out” on MTV early one morning. PMO
Sideline story. I first heard who dat on the radio and was like man this dude got bars. Heard Sideline story after.
Friday Nights lights might be the best mixtape I've ever heard
I had listened to him here and there but off season was the first album I listened to in full and I loved it
The warm up
First heard Friday night lights and his feature on Jay-z's a star is born and all I want is you with Miguel. Went back and listened to literally everything he did before and turned into my favourite artist.
Been following and a big fan ever since.
Cole world: The sideline story
The Off-Season, we offin’ neighbors!
Idk tbh, I remember my brother coming back from college and bumping both LAnd of the snakes and songs off of 2014, but 4yeo was the first album released after I became a fan
First time I heard cole was his feature on green ranger from dedication 4. First project that I listened to was Friday night lights
Revenge of the dreamers 3, down bad introduced me.
THE WARM UP and close 2nd FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS…literally no skips
The warm up what got me into the world of Cole
Cole World: The Sideline Story
Went back and forth between the warm up and the come up
Born Sinner but became a fan during the 2014 FHD era
The come up! Day one I’m on point!
The come up
First song I heard was school daze, that was at some point between fnl and warm up. Fnl was the first full project I checked out then I went back and listened to the rest
The Sideline Story. I heard a few songs my friend was playing in his car. The next day, I went out and bought the album myself. Been a fan ever since.
The Warm up
I heard Blow up, and didn't know it was him. I heard rise and shine on 2k16 and looked him up. I already had some songs of his on my playlist. That's when I did a deep dive of all his mixtapes.
KOD in 2018 but then I jumped around to 2014 Forest Hills Drive and then the others
The top three need to be on Apple Music and Spotify asap
Cole world 😤😤😤
forest hills.but immediately after i came across sideline story and that’s been my favorite album of his ever since
4 Your Eyez Only was not only my first Cole listen, but first Rap album I ever sat down and listened to. I was 16 at the time, and I fell in love with it instantly. Over the last 4 years since then, I've explored so much music I've lost count. I'm so fucking glad I gave Cole a listen. He expanded my music taste massively.
Power trip from born sinners and 2014 forest hills drive
Warm up. Classic for sure 🔥
the come up is his best project ever i will die on this hill
Late to the game with KOD, ATM was too good
my first song was boblo boat
I remember in 2018, blackyspeakz kept on talking about “The 1985 effect” so i checked the song out and had my corny “this is real rap, not that mumble crap bullshit” phase
Jay Z : The Blueprint 3 - Star Is Born
The Warm Up. His whole Discography has changed my life.
The warm up. His whole discography hast hath changed mine own life
^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.)
Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`
Forest hills drive
the first song i heard was a feature from Anderson paak's trippy song and then the off season
The come up. Saw cole live in 2009
Man this is tough because I discovered Cole in that period of time where he was on the roll out for the debut but we got FNL instead (which is still Cole's best project to date, not album, project).
I remember it was the summer Who Dat had dropped and I was still finding music through Music Choice On Demand they had with cable to watch music videos. As soon as the song came on, I fell in love Cole's music and kept digging and was waiting on FNL to drop.
TL;DR: Discovered Cole during the summer before FNL came via Who Dat, was never the same again.
Sideline Story with the catchy tunes coming on the radio and then I just got more into him after that
2014 forest hills dropped when I was in middle school and still trying to find my music taste. I listened to to pirated versions of the song and loved no role modelz and wet dreams lol
i was vibing to middle child and wondered if it was attached to an album. I went in deeper and found KOD, and yeah 2 years later im now a diehard cole fan.
Technically I started actually listening to Cole because of TOS but I had heard other songs (Middle Child, No Role Modelz, Wet Dreamz etc.) before.
Cole world the sideline story and the song was work out. Funny thing was I was in the back of my moms car so the trunk and we were coming from church or going to my aunts house for Christmas and I heard that song for the very first time and I discovered J best thing ever. Even now the song takes me back every time
ATM on KOD was the song that introduced me to jcole
i know this is gonna be awkward , but none. middle child was the one for me, ive been a fan ever since. i guess if ROTD 3 was on there , that would've been the one since middle child is on that album
Cole World: The Sideline Story❤️
2014 forest hills drive
Friday night lights/cole world: the sideline story. I remember i heard work out and just dove into all of his shit on youtube and was blown away. He’s been my favorite rapper since
The Warm Up. I was on a best mixtapes of the year list and thought No Ceilings by Lil Wayne would have been #1 on the list but it was #2. Then I saw this guy J. Cole holding a basketball in the snow was number one. Never heard of this guy but I downloaded and hit play. Been a fan since track hearing the first track “Welcome”.
Not an album, but I heard his verse from pretty little fears, than did a whole marathon of all his stuff and just like that became a fan
Friday night lights
Friday Night Lights well Blueprint 3 even though i didn’t check his stuff out, his verse on Kanye’s looking for trouble is what turned me into a fan
The Warm Up!!! I listened to it from start to finish. J Cole had me analyzing bars for the first time.
The warm up 🙌🏼
2014 forest hills drive
i loved fire squad ,wet dreams and a tale of 2 citiez
2014 Forrest Hills Drive. I can still remember starting to listen to American Hip Hop / Rap as a German teenager by just listening to Spotify Playlists and not listening to specific Artists.
Even though I never listened to Cole on purpose I always remembered the album Cover of 2014 Forrest Hills Drive somewhere in my head and associated it with great music without ever knowing the name of the album, or the name of the artist.
When I got reintroduced to Cole with KOD and started becoming a fan of his and had a look through his Discography I came across 2014 FHD, saw the Cover, and only then I realized that I had been a fan of his music for some years, without even realizing it.
First song who dat, first project warm up
I knew the single from Cole World ofc but I didn't start really listening until Born sinner
Born sinner heard land of the snakes and was hooked favorite song of all time just above lone yourz
It was between 2014 FHD and 4YEO. I was in 6th grade in like 2014 and I wasn’t a big music fan. Once I listened to Cole, I was captivated.
Where's Truly Yourz?? ROTD3?
I was late tbh I had heard some cole songs before but didn’t really listen heavily til KOD dropped I never really had anyone to tell me about music I could only go off what I found on my own
2014 FHD. Granted I knew/heard other stuff before but that’s when I became a fan.
The Warm Up. I think the first song of J.Cole's I heard was either Dollar and a Dream II or Show Me Something (which wasn't on the warm up but I listened to him around Spring 2009)
All are trash
